Brothers Qur'ān Memorisation (Hifẓ) Programme

The Qur’ān Memorisation (Hifẓ) Programme is a supervised and systematic approach to commiting the entirety of the Qur’ān to memory. This program constitutes one-on-one reading with a Qārī. There are no set limits on how many āyāt are memorised daily, this will be determined between the student and the instructor on an individual basis. Students will be evaluated at set points in the year and milestones set to monitor progress.
At present, we can only accommodate up to 7 students, so book your place now to avoid missing out!
Students will be required to have:
- Fluency in reading from the Muṣḥaf;
- Reached the age of 18 or above, and;
- Attend a minimum of 4 sessions a week.
At the end of the programme participants should be able to:
- Develop a strong memorisation process.
- Develop an effective revision habit.
- Learn methods and practise an attention to detail to reduce mistakes in recitation.
- Adapt correct pronunciation and joining letters and words.
- Memorise a significant portion of the Noble Qur’ān.
Please note: The programme may continue as long as the student wishes to attend; students may continue until they have completed the entire Muṣḥaf.
Upon completion of the Qur’ān Memorisation Programme, if a student has completed the entire Muṣḥaf, a graduation ceremony will be held and the student will be presented with a certificate of completion.

About the Instructor
Habib Ahmed
Habib Ahmed was raised in Loughborough for the majority of his life where he completed the memorisation of the Qurʾān in his early 20s. He is pursuing an Ijāzah as well as actively seeking knowledge locally.
- Habib completed his Hifẓ at Loughborough Mosque in 2021 under the tutelage of local teachers
- His is currently pursuing his Ijāzah in the Riwāyah of Ḥafṣ 'an 'Āṣim through a teacher with the Imām Jazarī Institute, London
- He has 15 years experience of studying and memorising the Qur’ān
- Previously led Tarāwīḥ at The Loughborough Mosque and Islamic Cultural Association (King Street)
Curriculum
Term Starts: Monday 2nd September
Term Ends: Friday 20th December 2024
Winter Holiday: 23rd December – 6th January
- Assessing student’s ability/experience of reciting and memorising the Qur’ān
- During this period, students will initially be focusing on the recitation of the Qur’ān rather than memorisation, in order to improve the student’s confidence, speed, fluency, Tajwīd and independence when it comes to reciting the Qur’ān
- Student will also start Memorisation alongside recitation of the Qur’ān. Students will start from short Suwar E.g Sūratu-n Nās
- Students will start learning the techniques and methods of memorising the Qur’ān (supported by teacher and not independently)
- Also during this period there will be a focus on the student’s Tarbiyyah, students will learn about the importance of the Qur’ān, virtues of memorising the Qur’ān, intention, etiquettes and manner etc.
- Lessons on Tajwīd will also be taught
- After end of each month, there will be meeting/interaction with parents on their children’s progress, behaviour, effort and attendance
- At the end of the first semester, there will be an assessment review to see if students are ready to start Ḥifẓh
- There will also be external assessments taking place during the end of first semester

Ramaḍān Holiday: 2nd March – 8th April
- Students at this stage will no longer be focusing on the recitation of the Qur’ān as they will be focusing on the memorisation of the Qur’ān by memorising Juz- ‘Amma (30th Juz-)
- Students should be able to learn / memorise by themselves during this stage
- Have learnt the different techniques and methods when it comes to memorising the Qur’ān
- Students able to identify which techniques or methods works best for them
- Revision techniques and methods will be taught during this stage
- During this period, the teacher will be able to plan and predict the duration of the students Ḥifẓh journey, the student’s ability and potential
- It will be expected for the student to have completed Juz- ‘Amma during this period
- There will be an emphasis on student learning and revising independently at home during this period to help facilitate with this every student will have their own personal revision timetable and planner which will be monitored by teachers and will be signed by parents

Break for ‘Īdu-l Aḍḥā: 13th – 19th May
- Students at this stage should be confident in memorising the Qur’ān
- Confident in revising in everything that they have learnt so far
- At this point students should be memorising 29th Juz- at this point and are expected to complete 29th Juz- during this stage
- Students will also be expected to start 1st Juz- during this period
- Students will undergo annual exams during this semester and will be tested on everything they have learnt during the academic year

The programme fee allows us to pay the teacher as well as funding any materials or stationary purchases/replacements.
If approved, we will issue a payment link to you prior to your child’s first session. We take payments via Stripe Link. Please see a breakdown below:

*Your payments will begin on the day you submit your first payment and will be taken automatically on a monthly basis thereafter.
Programme fee payments are handled via Stripe Subscriptions. If you miss a payment, Stripe will:
- Notify you that a payment has failed;
- Collect new payment information if necessary; and,
- Update the default payment method on the subscription if new payment information has been supplied.
If a payment fails for any reason, the payment will enter a holding status for up to 3 weeks during which the processor will attempt to complete the payment up to 4 times. If the required conditions are not satisfied to complete the payment then the status will be set to ‘overdue’ and the subscription will continue.
A volunteer will then contact you directly to enquire after the missed payment.
The programme fee is designed to incorporate holidays so that we don’t need to ask you to subscribe again at a later date. Your payments will continue until your child either graduates, or you decide to cancel at any time.
Yes, we can take on students at any time in the year. Please note that when joining mid-term, the teacher will assess the student and decide where in the programme they will begin from.
However, we have limited spaces and can only accommodate 7 students for now.
Yes, please ensure that all students adhere to our dress code:
- Please wear a Thobe/Jubba;
- Please wear a hat.
The centre will provide:
- A Muṣḥaf: Both Kūfī and ‘Uthmānī scripts are avaiable;
- A Rehab to put the Mushaf on;
- A copy of Aḥsanu-l Qawā’id.
Please can all students ensure they bring a notepad and pen to record progress and homework.
